Boston Defeats Heat to Advance
After a grueling seven-game series, the Boston Celtics defeated the Miami Heat in Game 7 to advance to the NBA Finals. The Celtics held off a late charge from the Heat, winning 100-96.
The Celtics will now face the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals, which begin on Thursday, June 2nd. This is the Celtics' first trip to the NBA Finals since 2010.
The Heat led by 13 points with just over five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, but the Celtics rallied to tie the game with just over two minutes remaining. The Celtics then took the lead for good on a layup by Jayson Tatum with just over a minute remaining.
Tatum led the Celtics with 26 points, followed by Jaylen Brown with 24 points and Marcus Smart with 24 points. Jimmy Butler led the Heat with 28 points, followed by Bam Adebayo with 21 points and Kyle Lowry with 18 points.
